Bikefrog’s Newest Tadpole

JUNE, 2017

The Frog Journal

After leaving F.K.’s “clubhouse” (it wasn’t a clubhouse, it was every kids dream play place!) we finally made our way to Route 66 and began our trek to St. Louis. It was Kristiana’s first day on the trail and we were looking to cover 65 miles to the William G. Stratton Park in Morris, IL. The day itself was a pleasant ride, mostly on a trail and we arrived at the park right at dusk, just in time to set up camp before a night of thunderstorms. Nothing got wet amazingly and Zach was able to manage a fire, while Eliot prepared dinner, and Andre scoured the town for beer and other supplies, Kristiana just enjoyed her first night in the woods (as we hoped she would!). Even with the rain the night was pleasant and we all washed up in the Illinois River before heading to bed.
